It is always difficult when an animal is nearing the end of their life and we at Old School Vet Practice are here to help with making it as stress-free and pain-free for you and your pet.

The first step is to contact us to discuss your animal’s situation. We can then help to advise, either over the phone or by appointment, if there is any other medical help that can be given or whether the kindest course of action is helping your pet to pass on comfortably.

We can arrange for euthanasia appointments to be done at the practice, or as a home visit if this would be preferred.

Cremation

If it is time to say goodbye, you can take your animal home with you for burial, or there are options for cremation if this would be preferred.

We can offer collection by the Conon Bridge-based pet crematorium, Oliver’s Highland Crematorium, who will arrange an individual cremation for your pet that allows for your pet’s ashes to be returned to you, with a variety of options for containers and memorial pieces. The cost for collection from us is £160, this does not include the cost of cremation or other services.

We can also offer the option of a communal cremation, although in this case we unfortunately cannot return the ashes to you. The cost of cremation is dependent on the weight of the animal.
